My son....

The ham. He loves his jumpy thing, I mean loves it! So here are some pictures of him in his favorite toy!

Just another weekend

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary. Since we didn't have a "wedding", I thought it would be a sweet idea to have a wedding cake made for our day. Lucky me, I met a lady on line who wants to start her own cake decorating business and she did this for me at a great price. I think it is absolutely gorgeous! We had a good day. We went shopping and the kids went to dinner with us but it was a day spent together without any work or school or anything else looming over us so it was perfect!

End of term

Today is Will's last day of the semester. Which means we actually get to see him on Friday and Saturday before the new term starts on Monday. Whoohoo. As it stands right now he is still a 3.9 student, acing his classes this term. This has not been easy and there doesn't seem to be an easy spot for the next year while he crams in his degree before we separate from the Navy. Such is life, one year of not seeing your spouse verses lord knows how long if we were to stay in. This seems like the lesser of 2 evils. I just need to remind myself of that when I have had the kids for 5 weeks straight with little to no help and no break. We are doing this so that we can be together. Oh the irony.....

Proof

This picture looks like we are torturing him, I realize that, but no boys were harmed in the taking of this pictures. There are his 2 nubbies that are supposidly going to be teeth one day. LOL

Puddle of mushy goo

We are under yet another heat advisory. Here are the current stats:

Temp: 90°
Dew Point: 75°
Humidity: 61%
Wind: East 8 mph
Visibility: 6.0 miles
Pressure: 29.93 in.
Sky: Clear
Heat Index: 100°

Here is the kicker. My AC died. I have been telling the apartment manager since May that there was a problem and all they ever did was add more Freon. Well last night at 9, it was 93 degrees in here. So they come oaroundunf 11 this morning and change the filter. That didn't work, so they changed the relays. They thought that it was fixed so they went and added more Freon but while they were doing that it died again. So they are calling in there AC guy. Hopefully he will be here today. It is hot and miserable here and I can't leave because of the repair guy! Send me back to Whidbey where the hottest it ever got was 85!

On another note, Aiden got his 2nd tooth already. I hope this means that we are done with the crabby, I am not going to sleep unless it is ON mommy stage. I need sleep and my back is killing me from sleeping on it. I'll try to stop bitching now!

My odd little men

Aiden likes his exersaucer in short spurts. Until he realizes that the toys don't play back!
We take our play very seriously!
This is what happens when I leave the room

This is why my son chews on everything in site. People (mommy and sisters) included!

I need a nap

Aiden's new tooth is such a pain in the arse! He sin't sleeping, he is grumpy, and very very clingy. Last night he was up from 10 to midnight then again from 3 am to 430 am. Well by this time I am completly awake so there is no chance in hell for me to go to bed. Oh well, maybe tonight will be better.

We went othe park this morning. It is supposed to get oppresivly hot here over the next 3 days. As in the weather man said if you don't have to go outside DON'T! We will be breaking records in heat and heat index starting tomorrow. So anyway, I took the kids to the park because there was no humidity and a nice breeze. All the kids made friends, even Aiden. He prefers the older girls as Sarah is 5.5 months. LOL

After that it was off to the commisary where once again I had to argue with the lady that checks ID's. We go thru this EVERY time. A little background here. You have to have a military ID to get in the commisary or be sponsered in but if you are spoonsered you can't purchase anything. Anyone over the age of 10 that is a military dependant has to have an ID. Aileen is 8 but looks 12. We stand there while she grills Aileen on her date of birth because evidently I am lying and trying to sneak her in! We finally get past the ID Nazi and do our shopping. Aiden is in the pack and Aileen is driving the cart (she only caused one major pile up). Little old retirees love to stop and ogle Aiden and talk to the girls. It's cute and they put on a great show. Now here is the sad part, I am getting diapers. I look at the sizes. I notice the weights on them and the fact that AIden's diapers have been a little snug as of late. I had to buy my baby size 3's!!!!!!! I am going to go cry now!

Breakthrough

Aiden cut his first tooth last night. There are these 3 sharp prongs in his mouth now. He is fascinated by running his tongue over it and sucking in his bottom lip to feel it!

A day at the park

We decided to go to the park early this morning to beat the heat. Yeah right! We were all sweating within 5 minutes. We all had a lot of fun though. Glad to be in AC now!

Princess

Can we tell who the Princess of the household is? HRH is getting groomed by Master Will. Grooming will be followed by nummies of Pixies choice. Why can't I get spoiled like that?

As of now

This is what my family is doing as of this moment.
Will - Being Very collegiate.

Aileen - Being a Playstation junkie:

Lauren - Let there be light so I may clean my room:

Aiden - In his Johnny jump up making me ill just watching him bounce and twirl. If that were me I would puke!

Is this love?

or torture? You decide!

If it's not one thing....

Will came home to a very rancid smell this morning and assumed that one of the cats had died and rotted quickly in this heat. Come to learn that when Aileen spilled milk (a half gallon of milk) she put the towels in the tub instead of the laundry. When I washed towels last night I assumed I was cleaning the milk ones. WRONG! The smell was horrible. So my apartment is 90 degrees since I had to run the dryer in the daytime.

I take the girls to the dentist where it is girls 2, cavities 0. Aileen got the green light for her braces so we will start that soon.

Come home to find that the cats have knocked over all of there food and it is scattered from here to next Sunday. Fire up my POS vacuum and it promptly starts smoking and making a noise that would make the dead cover there ears. Of course this happens 8 days before I can go buy a new vacuum so the girls and I had a contest on who can pick up the most food (Lauren won).

Messy eater

In a previous post I mentioned that Aiden liked to get more food on the walls and on me then in him. Well tonight he learned a new trick... to zerbert the spoon. The following is the end product of a jar of carrots.

Cuddle time

As most of you may know my darling husband works mids. He goes to work at 930 pm and returns at 630 am. He sleeps the first half of the day. This makes life interesting as I have to find ways to keep 3 kids at a resonable level of quite until about 3 pm. So I go into the bedroom this morning to grab the dirty laundry, and this is what I find.....

He really loves his Stitch.

Birthdays

Today I turned *gulp* 27. It was quite and the sky did not fall in. It was a little disappointing (ie no edible cake and my dad either forgot what today was or forgot to call). I did get a few e-cards, 3 phone calls, a birthday bouquet of flowers with a balloon (thank you Mom), and a birthday cake made out of flowers. The kids were very well behaved and that was the best present I could have asked for from them. Here is hoping the 27 won't be as busy as 26!

Priceless pictures

My baby boys gooberish grin.... Sleeping angel.
Aileen's crazy cat found a new place to sleep. On Lauren's dresser, in the book case!

Fun in the hot, miserable, sweltering, nasty sun

Have I mentioned that I hate the heat? This is what we have to subject small children to so they do not melt into pools of mushy goo.

Nighty Night

Bed time in our house is interesting to say the least. It starts at 530 pm when I start dinner, Will is doing his school work, the girls are like hemorrhoids , and of course the baby gets in a foul mood. So I try to cook dinner, appease the baby, and give the girls something constructive to do other then lets see who can make whom cry first. Dinner ends up over cooked, my nerves shot, and the older of the bunch pissy because "This tastes funny" This is why Papa Johns is on speed dial. Now it is about 630 and there is now an argument over who is taking a bath and who is taking a shower. Is it that hard to alternate? After the girls have flooded both bathrooms and I have sent them each back in the water to rinse out there hair AGAIN, it is time to feed the baby his dinner. This goes well for about 1 minute, then he gets excited, slaps the spoon and a variety of pureed veggies go all over the place. Which of course he finds hilarious and laughs with a mouth full of food. After 30 minutes of this fun *I am sure more food is on the wall and me then in him* It is his bath time. Which Daddy usually does. I am not sure what goes on in there but Will comes out of there looking like a drowned rat and Aiden happy as can be. Then we get to the dressing of the baby and the brushing of the girls hair. Both chores are equally demanding of patience and a good stiff drink following. It is now 730 and if we are lucky all chores are done, all are ready for bed. The boy has his night cap, the girls there story and we put them to bed chanting the same prayer in our heads over and over again "Please let them sleep, PLEASE"! Don't let this innocent picture fool you.....

Worries

Will worries that Aiden will be gay. You may ask yourself where these worries come from. I will tell you. His son has an affection for the Village People. He really likes it when Mommy sings "Macho Man", "YMCA" and ironically "In the Navy"

Time to move

I hate the heat, hate it. Well here is our weather right now.

Temp: 91°
Dew Point: 77°
Humidity: 63%
Wind: SW 6 mph
Visibility: 7.0 miles
Pressure: 30.01 in.
Sky: Thunderstorm
Heat Index: 105°

105!!! Hell is only a few degrees warmer!

Howdy

I figured this would be a great way to update family and friends on the state of affairs over in dobbyland. That way I don't flood inboxes with photos and you can read what we have been up to. Oh if you have tried to call lately, lightning fried our phone line so we are down to cell phones only. Gotta love those Virginia Thunderstorms!
